Technology – Grant Research

The Company actively seeks funding from the federal government for scientific research and develops collaborative relationships with academic investigators whose scientific interests complement our goals. The federal government has programs designed to encourage these collaborations. The National Institutes of Health have awarded the Company the following research grants:

  • The National Institute of Child Health/Human Development (NICHD) has awarded the Company a Small Business Technology Transfer Program (STTR) Grant entitled, "ssDNA Expression of Triplex-Forming Oligonucleotides". The first phase of funding of $100,000 will support Cancer research conducted by Dr. Peter Glazer at Yale University and by Dr. Chen in the CytoGenix laboratory.

  • The National Cancer Institute (NCI) has awarded a Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) to fund $100,000 for the first phase of a project titled: "PEI Aerosol Delivery of ssDNA Expression Vector." This an aerosol compound containing the Company's single stranded DNA vector coded with an anti-cancer gene sequence will be tested on mice with induced tumors in their lungs. Positive results will lead the way to further animal studies and eventually human trials. Dr. Charles Densmore at Baylor College of Medicine, Houston and Dr. Yin Chen at CytoGenix are conducting this research.

  • Additional STTR or SBIR grants are under development for other Cancer and infectious disease investigations.
